The virtual stick mode (or joystick mode) is a special flight mode in which the drone receives the piloting commands from the app instead of the remote control. Drones that cannot “natively” perform waypoint missions (due to hardware / firmware limitations) execute missions in virtual stick mode, which means that the application constantly pilots the drone throughout the execution of the mission and consequently it requires a stable and continuous connection. If the connection is lost during a mission in Virtual Stick mode, the drone will either hover in place or return to its starting point, depending on the fail-safe settings configured in the app.
