Define Waypoints “By FLIGHT”

Introducing “By Flight” Mission Planning on Android 🚀

We’re thrilled to announce that the long-awaited “By Flight” feature—already a hit on iOS—is now available on Android in Maven EVO 2.1 and Maven 2.3! Whether you’re charting new paths or fine-tuning precise maneuvers, you can now save waypoints simply by flying your drone to the desired spots. ✈️

What’s New?

Record Waypoints By Flight
No more manual tapping on the map—just take off, fly to the desired position and save it.

Seamless Integration
“By Flight” slots right into the Mission Planner UI. Choose between “From Scratch” map mission planning and “By Flight” mission planning with a single tap.

Enhanced Accuracy
Capture exact GPS coordinates and altitude directly from your drone’s telemetry, ensuring every turn and hover point is recorded exactly where you intend.

Record POIs By Flight
You can also choose to save the drone’s position as a POI.

How It Works

  • Open Mission Planner in Maven EVO 2.1 or Maven 2.3.
  • Tap “By Flight” in the mode selector.
  • Take off and guide your drone to each waypoint location.
  • Tap the Add Waypoint button to record the point.
  • When you’re done, simply tap Stop Define Waypoints?, then Yes, I’m done to finalize your mission.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Speed & Simplicity: Switch from in-map planning to live flight recording in seconds.
  • Precision: Record waypoints exactly where you hover, no guessing or manual coordinate entry.
  • Flexibility: Combine “By Flight” waypoints with traditional map-based waypoints for hybrid mission plans.

With this addition, the Android Mission Planner has now reached full feature parity with its iOS counterpart. We’re officially ready to bring you brand-new, groundbreaking innovations in Maven! Stay tuned for more exciting updates coming soon. 😉

Maven: Next-Level Mission Planning with 3D Previews & KML Export!

🚀 New Features

🔹 Advanced Mission Planning Tools:

🎥 3D Flight Preview for Realistic Mission Simulation (In-App)

A game-changing feature! The 3D flight preview allows you to visualize the drone’s behavior during the mission execution in real-time.
✅ An essential tool to verify mission settings before takeoff and prevent mistakes.
✅ The simulation runs in real-time, accurately reflecting speed and mission parameters.
✅ You can speed up playback, pause, and scrub forward or backward.
✅ The drone’s position remains visible on the map throughout the preview.

🌍 Mission Export to KML for Google Earth and Earth Pro
For an even more immersive experience, you can now export your mission in KML format and open it in Google Earth.
✅ The KML file includes the flight animation, POI placemarks, and the mission path polyline.
✅ Note: Google Earth (mobile app) and Google Earth (web) do not support automatic flight animations.
✅ To view the full mission flight animation, use Google Earth Pro on PC or Mac (available for free download).

📡 Drone Field of View (FOV) Visualization on the Map
Now, when setting a waypoint, you can instantly see the area that the drone will capture. This helps you plan your shots better and avoid unexpected surprises during the flight.

🔹 More Precise Exposure Control:
📸 Manual shutter speed selection for better control over your shots.
📷 Improved manual ISO selection to optimize exposure in all lighting conditions.

🛠 Improvements & Optimizations:
✔️ Various bug fixes and performance optimizations for a smoother and more stable experience.

💡 We’ve worked hard on this update, and we’re thrilled to share it with you! We can’t wait to hear your feedback—let us know what you think!

⭐ Enjoying this free update? Please consider leaving us a 5-star rating on Google Play Store! 🌟 to show your appreciation.
Your support helps us reach more drone pilots like you and continue improving the app. 🚀

📝 Notes

🚀 The new Mission Preview feature is already available in Maven 3.15 (iOS), Maven 2.2 (Android) and Maven EVO 1.2 (Android).

⚠️ Mission Preview Limitations:
🔸 The preview cannot tilt the camera above the horizon. If such movement is programmed, the preview will still be locked at the horizon.  However, in the actual mission, if the drone supports it, it will look up as expected.
🔸 Real-world factors may cause differences between the simulation and actual flight execution

🚀 Maven EVO 1.2.1 is here! 🎉

  • Added white balance settings
  • Added exposure compensation settings

Update now and enjoy more control over your camera! 📷✨

MAVEN EVO

Maven EVO Beta Preview: Exciting Updates for DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro Pilots

Welcome to the Beta Preview of Maven EVO, our latest and most ambitious app designed for drone enthusiasts. If you’re flying a DJI Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro, this update is tailored to unlock new possibilities and elevate your piloting experience. 🚁

Why Maven EVO?

When DJI released the SDK 5.x for the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro, it marked a major technological leap. However, this also came with a significant limitation: the 5.x SDK is not compatible with the older 4.x SDK used in our previous app. This incompatibility meant that simply updating the existing app was not an option.

To support these new drones, we had to start from scratch and build an entirely new app. While this was a challenging process, it also gave us the opportunity to rethink and improve many features, ensuring that Maven EVO is tailored to meet the needs of modern drone pilots.

Maven EVO is the result of months of hard work, learning, and innovation, and we’re excited to finally share a glimpse of what’s to come.

Key Features to Look Out For

Maven EVO introduces a suite of powerful tools, including:

  • Waypoint Navigation: Plan and execute precise flight paths with customizable waypoints. Perfect for capturing cinematic shots or automating survey missions.
  • Advanced Mission Planner: Take full control of your flight missions with an intuitive interface to configure complex routes effortlessly.
  • VR Mode: Immerse yourself in a first-person view experience, bringing a whole new level of excitement to your flights.
  • Virtual Copilot: Enable collaborative piloting or let the app assist you in controlling your drone for smoother, more efficient flights.

These features are crafted to maximize the potential of your DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro, ensuring seamless integration with your drone’s capabilities.

Release Timeline

We’re excited to bring Maven EVO to life, but we’ve encountered some delays in development. While we’re a few months behind our original schedule, the new ETA for the full release is before 2025. Thank you for your patience and continued support—it means the world to us.

Maven vs Maven Lite

what is the difference between Maven and Maven Lite?

Maven is our app for iOS based devices, it was developed from 2017 till now and contains all features shown on this site.

Maven Lite is our Android version released in late December 2022
The app contains fewer features than its iOS counterpart but will be constantly updated in the coming months until it reaches full Maven functionality

Update March 2023: added VR mode

Here is the list of differences:

it might seem that Maven Lite is very limited, but still the virtual copilot allows you to perform these functions:

  • POI spotlight
  • GPS Follow/Track ME
  • Cable Cam
  • Automatic Orbit

as mentioned earlier maven lite will be updated until deserving the name maven! This page will be updated as progress progresses!
